Spotlight on Paul Reiser
We were excited to welcome Paul Reiser to The Meeting Place to perform his jazz program last Saturday night. The sounds of smooth jazz emanating from his purple saxophone really warmed the place up! Paul’s tones were rich and full, providing the perfect sound for a jazz melody.
Paul Reiser has been a part of the Lima music scene for 60 years. His first gig was playing for dancing at Lincoln Park in the summer of 1944.
After graduating from Wittenberg University in 1949, He was a charter member in 1953 of the Lima Symphony Orchestra, playing clarinet and bass clarinet in it for 43 years. He also has been a member of the Lima Area Concert Band for over 30 years.
During this period he was also a member of various jazz bands led by Don Hurless, Ray Coleson, Brad Stauffer and the West Ohio Big Band led by Bob Loughrige and based in Celina. He presently plays saxophone in The Tune Toppers, appearing at area nursing homes and county fairs.

Great Open Mike Night
We had a great open mike night last night, listening to guitar and vocals from Paul Sulpizio from from Defiance. I also enjoyed meeting his wife, Daria.
Paul Sulpizio, pictured above.
We also enjoyed greeting those going through the Lima Lantern Tour. Below is a picture of our meeting room decorated, and ready for the groups to stop by.
The Lima Lantern Tour takes attendees on a walk through downtown Lima, touring some of the older buildings, and narrating chilling stories of times past, including the history of notorious bank robber John Dillinger and his gang, who wreaked havoc in Lima.
Open Mike Night is every Friday night – to sign up, drop by The Meeting Place, or call/email us (419-222-0985/ info@meetingplaceonmarket.com).
