ArtAbility – Art Exhibit Opens This Friday
Lima, Ohio – ArtAbility is excited to announce the opening reception of their month long art exhibit at The Meeting Place on Market. The public is invited to meet the artists on Friday, September 25th, 7 pm, at The Meeting Place on Market, 220 West Market Street, downtown Lima.
Their artwork will be displayed at The Meeting Place on Market, a gourmet coffee house and cafe, throughout October.
ArtAbility was created to provide options and opportunities for artists enrolled in the Marimor Adult Services program. These individuals express their ideas and vision through art and raise community awareness, participation and volunteerism. ArtAbility Studio has proven to be an exciting and successful new venture for Marimor Adult Services that helps promote the ideas of choice and program alternatives for the people served. The individuals work, but in a more artistic and creative setting. The studio focuses on developing and promoting creativity and expression in people with disabilities. A group of 10-12 artists from Marimor attend the studio five days a week working on a variety of independent projects. ArtAbility is a collaborative partnership with ArtSpace/Lima. ArtSpace/Lima is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing visual arts to the West Central Ohio region including: Allen, Auglaize, Darke, Hancock, Hardin, Logan, Mercer, Putnam, Shelby & Van Wert counties. The organization occupies a turn-of-the-century three-story brick building in the north west quadrant of Town Square in Downtown Lima, Ohio.
